South County League Board of Governors Meeting
Zoom Meeting

January 11, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 am by Pres. Jay Levine.

Barry Levy was introduced as a new captain for Hunters Run.

Roll call was taken, and all the clubs were present except Boca Woods and Stonebridge.

Jay announced that Mizner Country Club has dropped out of the league. One of the reasons was that they had trouble fielding teams for certain venues in their division.

We now have 14 teams. Jay stated that having 2 divisions of 7 teams each would not be practical, and he suggested considering going back to one division for this year. After much discussion, the move to one division was passed without objection.

Each team will play each other once (home vs away will be a random selection with 6 or 7 home matches – there are 13 weeks to play each team once.) Playoffs will be the top 8 teams. Tiebreakers will follow our current rules. We will try to not have more than 2 weeks in a row at home. The season will be April 27 – July 20. Playoffs will begin on September 7. Due to COVID, this year players will ride with their partner.

Alan Rubinstein expressed concern about the future of the league with good teams dropping out.

Jay will set up an ad hoc committee to examine the issue. He asked for anyone that would like to serve on the committee to let him know.

The next meeting will be via Zoom on February 8.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 am.

Respectfully submitted,

Larry Stone
Secretary
