South County Summer League Meeting Minutes July 8, 2025

Meeting called to order at 8:30 am by Alan Rubenstein, president'

The members thanked Polo Club for hosting this meeting

Attendance was taken and all clubs present except Hunter’s Run

Treasure report: There is approx.$2300 dollars in the club’s account.

Old Business: None

New Business: Several items were for discussion purposes only and will be
addressed at the rules meeting in December
a) Minimum number of holes to be completed for a match to count: a
majority of members felt that 9 holes completed by all teams would be
reasonable
b) Start times: Matches should be at the tee box and starting at 8:30
c) 5 index spread: after some discussion it was felt by members that this
has worded for a number of years and alternatives may add to the complexity of
assigning matches.
d) Spread of tees: Discussion noted that there are several clubs with
excessive distances between tee boxes. To be discussed further.
e) Timing of reduction to 6 matches during summer play: Discussion to
follow at December meeting. Some members felt that a minimum was not
needed; others disagreed.
f) Expansion of Summer League: Queries are being sent to a number of
local clubs to gauge their interest in joining the Summer League

Next meeting will be October 8th at Stonebridge

Meeting adjourned at 9:10 am.

Respectfully submitted,

Herb Lerner, Secretary
