Today, was the championship match versus the Fountains at our club course. There were nine matches. Eight matches were completed, and we were tied four to four. In the ninth and remaining match, we were one up going into the last hole. On that hole, one of the Fountains players sank what was described as a "forty foot putt' creating an overall tie. We played a three hole playoff, and the Fountains won for the third year in a row. Congratulations to them.

I was very proud of the way our team played today and all season.

On a personal note:

The end of the season marks the end of my tenure of more than a decade as governor of the Broken Sound team, and the end of the year will mark the end of my two-year term as president of the Board of Governors of the league. It has been an honor to have served in both capacities, but I strongly believe that it is time for younger leadership at both levels. If Joe Biden can step aside, so can I. After all, I am older than he is.

I want to say how appreciative I am of the support that the team and the league have received from our club at all levels. It has been exceptional from Ken and Federica, to Rick and Jeff and their staffs, to Kristine in events, to food and beverage, to Diana in accounting, to Justine in purchasing, and to all the support staff who have been involved. I also want to thank those who have played on our team through the years for their participation and support. Thanks also to my captains, Howard Gladstone and Harvey Perry, for their help and commitment through the years. I will be leaving the team in good hands with Bart and his captains. I only wish that we could have brought the trophy back home to Broken Sound.
